St. Bernard dropped down to 5-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They were outmatched by the St. Genevieve Valiants and fell 41-8. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 765th, while the Valiants are ranked 271st).

As for St. Genevieve, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.1 points over those games.

St. Genevieve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damian Rosales led the charge by rushing for 109 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, while also picking up 34 receiving yards. Michael Wynn was another key signal caller, throwing for 225 yards and three TDs.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Bernard is set to challenge their familiar foe Mary Star of the Sea at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Genevieve will take on rival St. Monica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Valiants 9.8, the Mariners 10.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
