Volleyball Recap: Maranatha Minutemen vs. Bishop Amat Lancers
Maranatha unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Bishop Amat Lancers on Tuesday. The Minutemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Maranatha was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-6, 25-23.
Bishop Amat's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lauren Meza, who had 12 digs and four assists. Another player making a difference was Natalie Peinado, who had 12 assists and four aces.
