Softball Recap: 38 Straight Home Wins for Carrollton

With a playoff win on the line, Carrollton rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Calhoun Warriors. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Lauren Flowers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Uhles, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Carrollton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matches.

Carrollton's win was their 38th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 35-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Calhoun, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-9.
