Volleyball Recap: Sky View Bobcats vs. Stansbury Stallions
With a playoff game on the line, Sky View rose to the challenge on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Stansbury Stallions out 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2020.
Sky View took Stansbury into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 29-27, 21-25, 15-12.
Makelle Burton paced Sky View's offense, picking up 20 kills. Burton got some help from
Allie Dahlgren and her 51 assists.
Paige Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Sky View is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-16 record this season. As for Stansbury, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-13.
Sky View will challenge Green Canyon at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Green Canyon is coming into the contest with nine straight wins on the road, so Sky View will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Stansbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
