Lakeland comes up short despite Talin Vitzakovitch's dominant performance

The Lakeland Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. The game between Lakeland and Riverside wasn't particularly close, with Lakeland falling 58-39. While losing is never fun, Lakeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 449th, while Riverside is ranked 81st).

When it comes to explaining why Lakeland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Talin Vitzakovitch. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Vitzakovitch's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Noah Kutchmanich was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Riverside, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Lakeland will head out on the road to face off against Montrose at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside, they will be playing at home against Carbondale Area at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
