Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Trinity Christian challenged Stephenson on Monday. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 win over the Jaguars. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Stephenson's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio King, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, King is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Another player making a difference was Onyx Stallings-Brown, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine assists.

Trinity Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Stephenson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Trinity Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lakeside at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stephenson, they and Parkview will face off at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
