Baseball Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Summers County Bobcats

The Princeton Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Summers County Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Princeton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against PikeView on Wednesday. They lost 7-0 to the Panthers. The Tigers have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Summers County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Greenbrier West on Thursday as they made off with a 13-1 win.

Summers County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-18-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Princeton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-23.

Princeton took their win against Summers County in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
