Softball Recap: Spring Grove Takes a Loss

Spring Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Eastern York Golden Knights, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 on April 2nd.

Andrina Camilleri was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Makennah Stiles, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Spring Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Eastern York, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Spring Grove and Eastern York could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Rockets (ranked 417th) will meet Susquehannock (ranked 206th) at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Eastern York will challenge Kennard-Dale at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (293 vs. 113).
