Melbourne Central Catholic kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Astronaut War Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Hustlers haven't had much luck with the War Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Melbourne Central Catholic took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-10, 23-25, 25-18, 15-9.

Catalina Mendoza paced Melbourne Central Catholic's offense, picking up 11 kills. Mendoza got some help from Nicole Brunetta and her 21 assists. Mendoza also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emma Martin, racking up three apiece.

Melbourne Central Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lake Howell on the 20th. As for Astronaut, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Merritt Island on the 26th.
