Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Flour Bluff

Flour Bluff won the last time they faced Ray and things went their way on Friday too. The Hornets came out on top against the Texans by a score of 58-51. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Hornets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Texans are ranked 103rd).

When it comes to explaining why Ray lost, don't look at Huzefa Ullah. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field en route to 14 points. Ullah is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mark Barragan, who posted six points.

Ray and Gregory-Portland will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Texans are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
