Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson County). They breezed by the Monterey Wildcats to the tune of 97-51 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Devils who have now won three contests in a row.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Garrett Wessels, who went 8 of 15 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points. The dominant performance gave Wessels a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Brown, who posted ten points and six boards.
Jackson County pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.9 points per game. As for Monterey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.
