Preview: Cambridge Bluejays vs. Belleville Wildcats
Cambridge is 1-9 against Belleville since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Cambridge Bluejays will head out on the road to square off against the Belleville Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, Cambridge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 54-43 to New Glarus. While losing is never fun, Cambridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while New Glarus is ranked 135th).
Meanwhile, Belleville pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakeside Lutheran. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Belleville in their matchups with Lakeside Lutheran: they've now lost four in a row.
Cambridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Belleville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Cambridge was taken down by Belleville 88-59 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Cambridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
