Basketball Recap: Dreher Comes Up Short

Dreher came up into this matchup off a tough 35-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Richland Northeast Cavaliers by a score of 42-39 on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-26 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Dreher saw an underclassman step up: freshman Mikayla Wooden went 6 for 9 on her way to 12 points and eight boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wooden has scored all season.

Dreher has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Richland Northeast, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13.

Dreher has already played their next contest (against Lancaster), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Richland Northeast will square off against A.C. Flora at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A.C. Flora is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
