Volleyball Recap: Olentangy Liberty Starts Season with Win Against Pickerington North

Olentangy Liberty took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pickerington North Panthers by a score of 3-1. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Olentangy Liberty walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 18-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Olentangy Liberty can attribute much of their success to Kylie Oehler, who had 15 digs and three aces. Oehler has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Oehler wasn't the only good server: Olentangy Liberty was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Olentangy Liberty will take on Gilmour Academy in a tournament on Friday. As for Pickerington North, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Dublin Scioto on the 21st.
