Basketball Recap: Whitmire Comes Up Short

Whitmire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 71-31 loss at the hands of the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes. The Wolverines were probably out for revenge after losing 64-41 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Braylen Sartor and Ayden Hopp certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Sartor almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Hopp posted a point. Sartor is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Whitmire's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Whitmire and South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Calhoun Falls Charter will take on McCormick in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
