Bradley-Bourbonnais is a perfect 10-0 against Stagg since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Boilermakers will head out on the road to take on the Chargers at 4:45 p.m. Bradley-Bourbonnais will be strutting in after a win while Stagg will be coming in after a defeat.
Bradley-Bourbonnais not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 10-0). Everything went their way against Homewood-Flossmoor as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Boilermakers considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Lydia Hammond was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Suttyn Hop, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Bella Pusateri was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Bradley-Bourbonnais always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Homewood-Flossmoor only posted an OBP of .381.
Meanwhile, Stagg fell victim to Andrew and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 21-0 to the Thunderbolts. The Chargers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Stagg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their record is now 10-7.
Stagg's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Bradley-Bourbonnais has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Stagg, though, as they've been averaging only 2.2 strikeouts. Will Bradley-Bourbonnais keep running through batters, or will the Chargers buck the trend?
Bradley-Bourbonnais took their win against Stagg in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Boilermakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
