Basketball Game Preview: Waldport Irish vs. Reedsport

The Waldport Irish will face off against Reedsport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Waldport turned things around against Myrtle Point on Tuesday. They snuck past the Bobcats with a 51-45 win.

Meanwhile, Reedsport waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Pirates as they made off with a 57-33 victory. Reedsport has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season.

Reedsport is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Waldport, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Waldport skirted past Reedsport 41-38 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Waldport repeat their success, or does Reedsport have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
