Basketball Game Preview: St. Thomas Episcopal Saints vs. Westbury Christian Wildcats

St. Thomas Episcopal hasn't had much luck against Westbury Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The St. Thomas Episcopal Saints will challenge the Westbury Christian Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Westbury Christian will be up against a hot St. Thomas Episcopal squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. St. Thomas Episcopal walked away with a 59-46 victory over Rosehill Christian on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Westbury Christian challenged Northland Christian on Tuesday. Westbury Christian enjoyed a cozy 58-44 win over Northland Christian. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 609th, while the Cougars are ranked 270th).

St. Thomas Episcopal is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Westbury Christian, their record now sits at 10-17.

St. Thomas Episcopal suffered a grim 77-56 defeat to Westbury Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can St. Thomas Episcopal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
