Baseball Recap: Harvey Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Harvey won against Wooster last Monday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Cavaliers didn't even let the Forman Lions on the board, marking the Cavaliers' second-straight 20-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cavaliers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Max Hernandez made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hernandez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Harvey let Matt Millstein and Liam Tarpey run wild. Millstein went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Tarpey went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Ben Shaw was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Harvey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Harvey pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Forman, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Harvey will head out on the road to challenge Rye Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forman, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Wooster at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
