Basketball Recap: Covington Skates Past Capitol with Ease

Covington was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Capitol on Tuesday. The Covington Lions breezed past the Capitol Lions to the tune of 50-19. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Covington had established a 26 point advantage.

Leading Covington to victory were Leniesha Burris and Anamaria Cerniglia. Burris posted 15 points, while Cerniglia earned 13 points. Another player making a difference was Mia Long, who scored six points.

Covington's record is now 8-16. As for Capitol, they dropped their record down to 3-23 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Covington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 28-27 victory against Glen Oaks on the 13th. Capitol has also already played their next game (against Episcopal), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
