Baseball Recap: Littleton Comes Up Short

Littleton had lost six straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 9-6 to make it seven. They came up short against the Gorham Huskies, falling 17-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crusaders have suffered since April 25th.

As for Gorham, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4. Considering they have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Gorham's part, Jack Saladino made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Saladino has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gorham got a massive performance out of Isaac Langlois, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Langlois has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Roberge, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Littleton will welcome White Mountains at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gorham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Profile at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
