Preview: Hickory Red Tornadoes vs. West Iredell Warriors

Hickory is 7-0 against West Iredell since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hickory Red Tornadoes will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Iredell Warriors at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hickory has 21 straight wins, West Iredell has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

In what's become a running theme this season, Hickory gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 95-48 victory over North Iredell. With Hickory ahead 53-31 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Hickory got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was John Holbrook out in front who scored 18 points. Holbrook is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Jamien Little was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Meanwhile, West Iredell pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 83-60 defeat at the hands of Statesville. West Iredell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-22.

Hickory pushed their record up to 21-0 with that win, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Iredell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Everything came up roses for Hickory against West Iredell in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 107-63 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was West Iredell's Jermaine Cornelius, who scored 29 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Hickory still be able to contain Cornelius? There's only one way to find out.
