Baseball Recap: NOVA Homeschool's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

NOVA HomeSchool dropped their record down to 12-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Trinity Christian Gryphons by a score of 8-7. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gryphons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Trinity Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For Trinity Christian's part, Isaac Norman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave Norman a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.

In other batting news, Brody Frank was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Grady Frank was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, NOVA HomeSchool will host Front Royal HomeSchool at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flames will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. Trinity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
