The Sky View Bobcats will face off against the Deseret Peak Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Sky View and Mountain Crest, and Mountain Crest kept the tradition alive. The Bobcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs on Tuesday.
While Sky View had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 16-25, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Sky View had strong showings from Kinsley Stevens, who had 15 assists and three digs, and Abby Thatcher, who had five digs and two aces. Stevens is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Deseret Peak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Bear River, falling 3-0.
While Deseret Peak was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bear River's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22, 29-27.
Sky View's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Deseret Peak, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Sky View has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Deseret Peak struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Sky View was able to grind out a solid win over Deseret Peak in their previous matchup back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
