Volleyball Recap: Jones Takes a Loss

Jones was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Edgewater Eagles. If the Fightin' Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jones actually scored more points across those five sets (106-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 19-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20, 17-15.

Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Edgewater, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Looking ahead, Jones will look to defend their home court on April 3 against Colonial at 6:00 p.m. After both having extra time off, Edgewater and Boone will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
