Football Recap: Prescott Starts Season with Victory Against St. Mary's

Prescott had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand the St. Mary's Knights a 20-0 shutout on Monday. For the Badgers, this counts as revenge for the 10-7 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Rianna Aguilar was nothing short of spectacular: she rushed for 106 yards and two scores on only 14 carries, and also threw for 170 yards and one TD. Those 106 rushing yards gave her a new career-high.

Prescott didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Lucy Zembik, Brinkley Larson, and Maggie Maneely picked up one apiece.

Prescott didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-0 win against Tempe on the 17th. As for St. Mary's, they will venture away from home to square off against Crismon at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
