Football Recap: Huge Rushing Attack Leads Sanger over Justin Garza

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Sanger ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Justin Garza Guardians. The Apaches haven't had any issues with the Guardians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kendale McGrew had a dynamite game, rushing for 108 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. He has become a key player for Sanger: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sanger was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Justin Garza only rushed for 87.

Justin Garza lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bohden Smith, who threw for 314 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 70 yards and one score. Justin Garza's leading receiver Nate Rodriguez was Smith's top target yet again, picking up 175 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Sanger now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Justin Garza, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.
