Football Recap: Toombs County Skates Past Elbert County with Ease

Toombs County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Elbert County Blue Devils, posting a 56-17 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 28 points or more this season.

Tj Stanley was his usual excellent self, throwing for 248 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September. Dabvn Wadley helped Stanley out on the ground, rushing for 68 yards and one touchdown.

Toombs County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mike Polke and Nick Carroll.

Toombs County's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Elbert County, they moved to 7-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Toombs County has already played their next match, a 42-15 victory against Dublin on the 6th. Elbert County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
