Recap: Broomfield Eagles vs. Green Mountain Rams
Even though the Green Mountain Rams scored an imposing 68 points on Friday, the Broomfield Eagles still came out on top. Broomfield snuck past Green Mountain with a 73-68 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Broomfield also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Broomfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shyya Martinez, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Effland, who scored 15 points.
When it comes to explaining why Green Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ameer Dowdell. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Blake Weslin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Broomfield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Green Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Broomfield is on the road again on Saturday and play against Wheat Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on December 9th. As for Green Mountain, they will take on Discovery Canyon at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
