South Lyon East has gone 9-1 against South Lyon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Lyon East Cougars face off against the South Lyon Lions at 5:30 p.m. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for South Lyon East and six for South Lyon.

Last Tuesday, South Lyon East came up short against Walled Lake Central and fell 54-42. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Vikings are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, South Lyon also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Lakeland by a score of 45-37.

South Lyon East's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for South Lyon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

South Lyon East won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, slipping by South Lyon 64-63. Will South Lyon East repeat their success, or does South Lyon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
