Baseball Recap: Evergreen Park Gets the Win

Evergreen Park hadn't done well against Tinley Park recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mustangs skirted past the Titans 2-1. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Michael Rodriguez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Evergreen Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Koziczkowski, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Evergreen Park's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tinley Park, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-11.
