Recap: Farrell Steelers vs. Wilmington Greyhounds
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Farrell Steelers had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by Wilmington on the road to the tune of 36-7. Considering Farrell has won five contests by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Kabron Smith looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 186 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes. Julius Phillips Jr was another key contributor, picking up 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Farrell's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Wilmington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Farrell will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Mercyhurst Prep at 12:00 p.m. Mercyhurst Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Farrell likes a good challenge. Wilmington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
