Volleyball Recap: Lane Tech Takes Down Maine West in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lane Tech walked away with it. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Maine West Warriors on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Champions also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2018.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lane Tech took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11.

Lane Tech was led to victory by Amelie Patterson and Lena Palus. Patterson had four aces and three digs, while Palus had four digs and one assist. The dominant performance also gave Patterson a new career-high in assists (25).

Lane Tech is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-14 record this season. As for Maine West, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-23.

Lane Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Glenbrook South on the 30th. Maine West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
