Last Friday, Paducah Tilghman suffered a tough 90-70 defeat at the hands of Massac County.
Meanwhile, Dawson Springs strolled past Allen County-Scottsville with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 71-52. Given Dawson Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Allen County-Scottsville is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dawson Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Montgomery Johnston, who scored 23 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Blue, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds.
Paducah Tilghman's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. As for Dawson Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
