On Thursday Avon's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Le Roy Oatkan Knights. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Braves have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Jessie Crye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Avon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Schutz, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Rylie Miller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Avon's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Le Roy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Avon beat the Oatkan Knights by a score of 2-1 later that day.
