Baseball Recap: West Orange Takes a Loss

West Orange dropped their record down to 13-11 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Hoboken Redwings by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Mountaineers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Hoboken, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 20, 2024.

For Hoboken's part, William Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Hoboken's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jason Dale, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Dale is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played.

Coming up, West Orange will take on Passaic Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hoboken does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
