Kennedy had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They walked away with a 21-12 win over the San Fernando Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Diego Montes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 102 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 133 yards and one TD. Kennedy also got a significant boost from Josue Sandoval, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.

Another reason for the win was Kennedy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was James Montes with two. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played. Another thorn in San Fernando's side was Jacob DaSilva, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Kennedy's record is now 8-1. As for San Fernando, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will venture away from home to take on Reseda at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will be up against the Regents' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.22 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for San Fernando, they will head out on the road to square off against Canoga Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
