Basketball Game Preview: Whites Creek Cobras vs. Pearl-Cohn Firebirds

Whites Creek is 0-10 against Pearl-Cohn since February of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Whites Creek Cobras will challenge the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds.

Whites Creek is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 69 points last Friday, they were much more limited against East Nashville Magnet last Saturday. They took a 41-24 bruising from the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Eagles are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pearl-Cohn). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat KIPP Nashville Collegiate 101-1. The win was nothing new for the Firebirds as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Pearl-Cohn's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45.9 points. As for Whites Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Whites Creek ended up a good deal behind Pearl-Cohn in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 49-32. Can Whites Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
