Basketball Game Preview: Independence Wildcats vs. West Lowndes Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Independence Wildcats face off against the West Lowndes Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Independence saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pontotoc.

Meanwhile, West Lowndes was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 60-55 to Caledonia. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 87th).

West Lowndes dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
