Baseball Recap: Baker County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Santa Fe

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Baker County). They had just enough and edged out the Santa Fe Raiders 14-13 on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Baker County let Kaiden Burnsed and Evan Cannon run wild. Burnsed scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Cannon went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Cannon a new career-high.

Baker County's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Santa Fe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Baker County will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgeview at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Santa Fe, they will take on Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: the Rams will have lost 21 straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
