Basketball Recap: Dysart Comes Up Short

Dysart saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to the Mountain View Toros. The game marked the Demons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Dysart's loss came despite strong showings from Ashton Havvard and Santiago Leyva. Havvard posted nine points along with five boards and three steals, while Leyva dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Havvard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Cruz, who put up seven points.

Dysart has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Dysart will be playing at home against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain View, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Chandler at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
