Softball Game Preview: Norwich Free Academy Wildcats vs. Fitch Falcons

The Norwich Free Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Fitch Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Fitch took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Norwich Free Academy, who comes in off a win.

Norwich Free Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against East Lyme as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Dakota Bourdon made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Bourdon was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Boenig was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brooke Stringer, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Fitch was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of Waterford by a score of 2-0. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Fitch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Norwich Free Academy, their record is now 2-0.
