Gorham faced Thornton Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on five straight.

Leading Gorham to victory were Ava Scott and Adyson Hutchins. Scott had eight digs and three aces, while Hutchins had four digs and two aces. Those three aces gave Scott a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Gorham was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in six consecutive matchups.

Gorham's record now sits at 7-2. As for Thornton Academy, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Coincidentally, Gorham and Thornton Academy will both be playing Biddeford the next time they take the court. The Rams will head out to face the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Trojans will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
