Baseball Recap: Hazleton Area Picks Up Ninth Straight Win on the Road

While Hazleton Area's win against Crestwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars skirted past the Comets 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Aj Collevechio looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Hazleton Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Racho, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Shea Higgins was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Hazleton Area pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Crestwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Hazleton Area wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-7 victory against Dallas on the 15th. As for Crestwood, they have also already played their next match, an 11-0 win against Berwick on the 15th.
