Basketball Recap: North Salinas Vikings vs. Pajaro Valley Grizzlies
The North Salinas Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 60-49 to Pajaro Valley. North Salinas was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
North Salinas' loss came despite strong showings from Logan Bayhonan and David Jauregui. Bayhonan scored 12 points, while Jauregui scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Jauregui posted two or more blocks.
North Salinas has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Pajaro Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16.
North Salinas will take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. King City is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Pajaro Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against the Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rancho San Juan will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
