Basketball Game Preview: Kimberly Bulldogs vs. Gooding Senators

The Kimberly Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Gooding Senators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kimberly will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Snake River, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Kimberly took down Snake River 60-44 on Saturday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 51-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Brooklyn Verwey was nothing short of spectacular: she went 14 for 28 on her way to 31 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Ward, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Gooding had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 44-19 win.

Gooding's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Kimberly, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.

Kimberly strolled past Gooding when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 62-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kimberly since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
