Volleyball Recap: Boulder City Falls Despite Big Games from Ally Jappe and Hayden Nordstrom

Boulder City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Moapa Valley Pirates. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 20-25, 25-11, 25-18.

Boulder City's loss came despite strong showings from Hayden Nordstrom and Ally Jappe. Nordstrom had 22 digs and six aces, while Jappe had six digs and three aces. Jappe has been hot, having posted three or more aces the last six times she's played. Frankie Ford also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Moapa Valley had a senior duo take command as Chloe Dalley had 21 digs and seven aces and Clari Frei had 15 digs.

Boulder City's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Moapa Valley, their victory ended a five-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-18.

Coming up, Boulder City will face off against Virgin Valley at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th. As for Moapa Valley, after both having extra time off, they and The Meadows School will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
