Baseball Recap: Carson's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Carson took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Reed, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Carson came out on top in a nail-biter against Reed on Saturday, sneaking past 8-7. The victory was some much needed relief for the Senators as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Tyler LaFollette, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Chase Grundy was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Carson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .532. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Carson's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Reed, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carson will challenge Reno at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Reno's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Carson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Reed, they will take on Damonte Ranch at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Reed is facing Damonte Ranch at the right time seeing as Damonte Ranch is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
