Softball Game Preview: Hutchinson Tigers vs. Southwest Christian Stars

The Hutchinson Tigers will challenge the Southwest Christian Stars at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hutchinson has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Hutchinson lost 17-2 to Delano. Hutchinson hasn't had much luck with Delano recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Southwest Christian hadn't done well against Mound-Westonka recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Stars walked away with a 7-2 win over the White Hawks. While the Stars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Southwest Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Hutchinson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Hutchinson came out on top in a nail-biter against Southwest Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Stars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
