Volleyball Recap: Neodesha's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After a string of five wins, Neodesha's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Humboldt Cubs by a score of 2-1. The Blue Streaks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cubs earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Neodesha started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Leading Humboldt to victory were Skylar Hottenstein and Bailey Daniels. Hottenstein had 16 digs and three aces, while Daniels had 15 assists and seven digs. Those 15 assists gave Daniels a new career-high.

Neodesha's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 24-5. As for Humboldt, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Humboldt will face off against Caney Valley on Saturday. Neodesha will be paying especially close attention to the Cubs' contest: after the Cubs face off against the Bullpups, they'll take on Neodesha again at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
